About the Role
The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the performance, availability, and security of our databases. You will also be involved in the planning and development of the database, as well as troubleshooting any issues on behalf of the users.
Responsible for administering, maintaining, and monitoring company databases to ensure optimal performance and availability.
Implement and maintain data security protocols to protect sensitive information from unauthorized access.
Develop and maintain data backup and recovery procedures to ensure data integrity.
Collaborate with development teams to design and implement new databases to support business needs. Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks to ensure efficient database operations.
Provide technical support to users and resolve database-related issues.
Plan and execute database software upgrades to keep systems up to date.
Create and maintain database documentation, including data standards, procedures, and metadata.
Investigate and resolve database-related problems in a timely manner.
Monitor and report on database capacity, making recommendations for scaling as needed.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Proven experience as a Database Administrator or similar role.
Proficiency in database management systems (e.g., Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server).
Strong knowledge of database design and data modeling. Solid understanding of data security and encryption.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Knowledge of database performance tuning techniques.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Relevant certifications (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional) a plus.
